Specialty from the Bakery: Sugar Plum Bread

As you all might expect, the month of December is my favorite month due to the fact that its Christmas time. Christmas is all about giving, spending time with family and eating! Here is a great sweet bread that I will sometimes make for breakfast, but it pairs perfectly with afternoon tea. I make this at the bakery during Christmas season and it always sells out like hot cakes!

1/3 cup butter (melted)

1 cup sugar

1 tsp vanilla

1tsp baking soda

1 beaten egg

1/2 cup raisins

1/2 cup cranberries

1 tbs orange zest

Confectioners sugar for topping

Combine ingredients in a large bowl. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a small loaf pan or use a cupcake tin. Pour batter into dish and cook for about 20 - 30 minutes depending upon pan size. Remove from oven once golden brown. Top with a dusting of confectioners sugar then...
